An assessment provides valuable information about your child. Assessments can identify giftedness, specific learning disabilities, academic strengths and weaknesses, ADHD, or possible cognitive delays. We listen carefully to your child’s unique needs and help guide you through the assessment process step by step. At the end, you’ll have an informed and comprehensive plan that includes meaningful strategies to help support your child’s development.

Gifted Assessment: Includes Intake meeting, cognitive testing and/or achievement testing, scoring and interpretation, full written report with recommendation, and feedback interview.

Psycho-Educational Assessment: Includes Intake meeting, academic file review, various testing (as needed – cognitive, academic, and/or social/emotional/ADHD), scoring and interpretation, full written report with recommendations, and feedback interview.

Social/Emotional/ADHD: Includes Intake meeting, consultation with school staff, file review, testing, scoring and interpretation, report writing with recommendations, and feedback interview.

Adults can find post-secondary education and/or the workplace challenging due to underlying and often undiagnosed learning disabilities, ADHD, or other cognitive conditions. An assessment can help you better understand your strengths and areas of need. We will take the time to discuss the final diagnostic report with you which will include strategies to help you meet your specific goals. The assessment can be used to advocate for academic or workplace accommodations or to apply for AISH or PDD funding if applicable.

Christine Turner

Christine Turner

Christine Turner is a Registered Psychologist in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.  She specializes in the areas of Psycho-Educational Assessments, ADHD Assessments and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for children, adolescents, and adults. Christine’s passion and expertise is working with those who struggle with anxiety, ADHD, OCD, depression, and emotional regulation.

Before becoming a Registered Psychologist, Christine worked as an educator. In her 25+ years working in the school system, Christine worked as a classroom teacher, a special education teacher and a school counsellor. With her calm, relaxed and approachable style, Christine works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain personal growth.

Christine offers in-person and virtual appointments for clients located in Calgary and the surrounding area. Christine is available for virtual appointments for clients in the province of British Columbia.

Christine is also the co-creator of Mindful Monkey, a virtual reality calming room for kids. When appropriate, Christine integrates this technology into her therapy sessions.

When Christine is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, amazing granddaughter, and her four-legged friend, Beau the Yellow Lab. As a member of Pet Access League Society (PALS), Christine believes in the benefits of pet assisted therapy. In the past, Christine’s dogs have acted as literary coaches at the public library and therapeutic companions at a local senior’s residence.

Do I Need A Referral?

You do not need a referral to see a Psychologist in private practice. Clients are welcome to contact the office directly at (403) 910-8875.

Where Can I Park?

Both short and long term parking are available.

What if I need to reschedule my appointment?

We understand that life happens! If you are not able to attend, or need to reschedule an appointment we would appreciate at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations made inside the 24-hour window will result in a fee of $110. No shows will be charged the full price of the missed session.

What Types Of Payment You Accept?

We accept e-transfer and credit cards. We will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to any applicable health insurance plans for reimbursement for services.

What Can I Expect At The First Appointment?

The first appointment is an opportunity for us to meet you and talk about how we are able to support you. This is also an opportunity to have a safe space to ask any questions. Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, unless otherwise planned and agreed upon.

How Long Is The Educational Assessment Process?

Assessments may require 3 or more appointments. We work with you and your schedule to accommodate the multiple appointments.
